Re : Bitfarm

Besides if you really just wanna leech than Newshost isn't gonna be that beneficial to you. Here's what I do.

#Register at an international NZB site (Merlin's portal, NZBMatrix and United Forums are all usable and have your favourite Linux distro)
#Download NZB's with your int.
#When int is up start the downloading (hopefully you're on SAIX, so the speeds aren't too bad).
#Go to www.myisp.co.za sign up for their free bandwidth.
#Download NZB's as needed.

Another route (that I like, but others don't) is to download the headers straight of usenet and browse to your hearts content. What I like about this method is that you don't have to jump through the hoops of normal NZB sites and you're more likely to find something there that isn't listed on NZB sites.

If you have Linux (it works on windows too, but you'd have a lot of disparate downloads) you can do it with urd (http://www.urdland.com). It works beautifully.

I like a mixture of NZBs and torrents. I take NZBs for older stuff 'cause if it's too old, torrents won't have any seeders and, if I get it, there probably won't be enough leechers to allow me to seed back. But overall I prefer torrents partly because my news server client sucks. Anyone wanna recommend something a bit better than Grabit?

Pretty much all local news servers suck. Have you tried altbinz - otherwise if you want to buy one have a look at newsbin pro.

Ok, thanks. I'll try altbinz. I mainly use torrents so I don't wanna pay for news servers. But ja, it's probably the local news servers that's causing my problems:(

If anyone wants to send me a invite for one of the local torrent sites I would really like that. I'm prepared to share and wont leach.

In fact at the moment, i'm being leached off, the only people I can connect to locally are peers not seeds. Hell if anyone can tell me how to connect to the local trackers I'll be over the moon.

send me your e-mail address.

Gotta say the idea of local trackers would be great... i have boat loads of local bandwidth and am more than willing to share whatever I have

Would love an invite to Bitfarm, got a mate who got access to ftwr etc. so I get all the latest stuff to share.

Cheers.

I also use Alt.binz. Downloads from all the servers if connected at once. Full line speed depending on source.

Problem is that I am shocked at how bad the local structures are for downloading if you are not on SAIX. If you do not dwnl from Akamai (Microsoft/PS3) or HTTP local there is just nothing. I just tried the DC++ Hubs but that is a total waste due to speed/connections available/content etc. The local scene is just dead thanks to TELKOM and government.

Non of my Bitfarm torrents download from WA local trial. Tracker says Bitcomet is banned.
None of my NZBSA news server items download from WA Local trial.:mad:

Trial 10GB didn't affect me for the former, but the newserver was dead- was hoping it'd work as I usually buy IS local accounts :(

Anyway, Got some international content I can up, thanks WA :D
