Am wanting to send a 5kg (50cmx50cmx15cm) parcel to Australia. Sending by courier is prohibitive so that leaves the only option of SAPO.

Am battling to get any form of pricing from them. Any recommendations on a source/facility to get pricing including all customs and excise duties?

Since the package has to be handed in for delivery at a physical sapo branch, you might as well just head on over to your nearest branch and get all the information from them and then send the package off if it's all good..

Yeah... its never getting to Oz if you send it with SAPO.
So I hope the contents are replaceable because it will be stolen.

If you want to go with Post Office, see if you can go with EMS. Once it leaves SA, it will be easy to track that side. They have a customs thing here: http://www.emssouthafrica.co.za/

Aramex may be the least expensive option otherwise.
