A mate of mine bought an Acer from these guys recently. Had pretty good service too.
Dell is a good, solid brand. But pricey...
Pricey, yes... But at the end of the day, that notebook has some quite useful extra features:
1) HDMI output
2) LED backlight
3) Vista Ultimate
And the 6730s will be, I'm sure, the same price if not more!
I'm not too keen on the Acers. On paper it seems good, but especially your story of frying the graphics... Puts me off a bit
1) Good!
2) Good!
3)
So yeah 2 out of 3 good features. Install XP.

Honestly, I'm just justifying the increase in price. As mentioned before, I'll be running Ubuntu 99.99% of the time anyway
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy a Macbook
*shoots self for saying that*
I will bitch-slap you. *flicks fingers and shakes head from side to side*
Get a real man's latop. Get the one with built in Intel gfx, basic wifi, no bluetooth, DVD drive, 80GB HD and small screen. No HDMI, no DVI, no GPU, no extra HD, no Firewire, 2 USB ports max, no included WinDVD, ....
Business all the way.
Buy Macbook Air![]()

o.o'
How practical is that? It looks really kewl, but gives me the creeps. I... feel... like... making a... boaty-hat out of it...
Well it makes a nice, unconventional paper-weight![]()
Oooo... And when you get mugged you can pretend it's a worthless piece of cardboard! GENIUS!
