@Ockie I bought a new prepaid sim. I'm trying to RICA it myself at home (didn't have my PoA when I was passing the store)

I downloaded the app, selected rica new sim. Entered the 20 digit number. I then get this error.

Is that option not available anymore? Or is this an issue with the rica system?

I am not sure. I never used that. I always just Rica prepaid Sims directly on the system.

@Ockie - Hi there, I have often wondered how contravening the exact requirements of RICA is flaunted by outside parties without consequences if read some of these forum postings. Just turns the good intentions of the Act into a joke,unfortunately.

This sounds fishy, so afraid or worried about Rica as if it’s the most limiting factor in reactivating a sim

On contract yes but this sounds like prepaid. Number might be recycled. Not sure how long this sim has been inactive for.

It has been recycled for 2 months , i don't mind paying for reconnection

It should be pretty quick at Pep Cell. Just take ID with.

Yea this, R1 for the sim and about 3 minutes of them filling in my ID number and glancing at my proof of residence on my cellphone.
