LOL, one of our alter egos is a beer we enjoy drinking. We hooked up in 2004 and have been going steady ever since, etc, etc, etc. Good luck to any government organisation intent on catching "him" in the act! :D

Dude thanks for that link! ;) Thats one of the articles I was thinking of.

Really  I joined up with Facebook only for the sake of wanting to find old school friends and thus far have managed to find 5. Privacy issues - why the hell would you want to blurt your innermost secrets on the Web anyway?

Aggghhh I'm not going any further - I've already made my point earlier.

Good grief it's quite funny how people ramble on about things they don't understand. All I can say is that I can see you're not a member of Facebook by the simple lack of knowledge.

I work for a living and barely have enough time in the day to complete the tasks that bring in the bacon. I certainly do not have time to waste ‘poking’ people in order to get them to be my ‘friend’. And anyway, I’m totally paranoid about my privacy. I have fears over a lack of privacy!

Im the same :D

That's like saying: "Cellphones are used to send viral smses. That's why I don't own a cellphone, I have more important things to do than send viral smses."

Facebook is not only about poking people and playing with daft applications, just like cellphones are not only about sending viral smses!

Can someone explain why Facebook want my web email user name and password to check if my friends are registered? They must be mad. Why would I want to give ANYONE my email user name and PW??

Its an optional convenience thing that they offer. If you don't want it, don't use it.

Beyond the "convenience" - how do I search for a user by email address?
Or is this a feature only available by giving them your details!?

facebook is a marketing platform: for oneself. marketing for money, sex, friends, fame, attention - it's all there.

how concerned can you really be about privacy when you are marketing yourself?

really. it's quite simple.
