There are cheaper models on DX also

I'm not sure how delivery will be affected by the SAPO strike.

The D-Link DWA-132 from Takealot/Kalahari appears to use the Realtek RTL8192CU which might be suitable - need to test the stability. If you use a R75 off voucher and free delivery it won't cost you much. Don't spend too much in case it doesn't work reliably.

This RTL8192CU based Telkom adapter might also work ...

Hmmm so i plugged it into the computer and it works fine but in the Playon it does not work properly, just stopped all of a sudden. Both USB slots work fine and am able to browse the network but when I select something to play, it loses it.
Any suggestions or ideas?

@marine1: My apologies for giving you the wrong advice! Do you have the Skylink SL-1504N adapter?

It appears that SKU 80112 and SKU 106528 are the same product.

Here are two reviews that claim it does work with media players. The HiMedia 600A uses the same processor as your AC Ryan PlayOn! HD. It is possible that Skylink/Realtek have made some recent changes to the firmware.

I think something wrong with the media player. The adapter works on a pc. The fan stopped working for a while now for some reason it doesn't work wireless when selecting the video. It's like it syncs so slow it doesn't play. Weird

@marine1: Have you tried to use a Y-cable to power the USB WiFi adapter? I think that WiFi adapter might need more current than a short range one like you were using previously.

Hmm mm perhaps thanks bud I will try but it has worked up until now I think for some reason something she is broken
But ad I said both USB ports are working with an external drive.
I even re flashed the unit with a firmware. But as I select the file over the network it just doesn't play anymore.
**** technology really man.....
