Reason behind Naspers websites shutdown plans given

Much better idea doing one good uber-site. People far prefer going to Amazon, searching for anything and finding it, then hitting BUY.

The one and only time I ordered from 5Rooms, I ordered 4 different items and each item was delivered to my house separately on 4 consecutive days. That's right, 5Rooms effectively paid for 4 separate deliveries when they could have easily just delivered everything in one go. I'm not surprised they're losing money.

If kalahari setup distribution sites in the 3 main cities then I might consider using them a bit more often... As it is takealot is usually faster

Only ordered once from Kalahari... Delayed delivery and price was a bit scary

When did 5Rooms and style36 start because I only found out about them late last year? 5Rooms is not something you will buy every month though, so I can understand the take up wouldn't be that high. As for style36 though, they rarely had my size shoe or clothing so no great loss.

I am hoping they would add 5Rooms products to kalahari. That would be great. Why couldn't they first work out a plan, redirect people to say kalahari and then shutter the sites?

Did you order each item from a different room?

Kalahari is a stronger brand, and its local ( no import duties) , so better to consolidate all brands under it.....but Amazon delivers faster that they do. Something needs fixing there!...

SA had two larger e-commerce entities with access to Amazon’s catalogue, this coupled with regional regulations by utilising American online retailer API’s. Takealot had to terminate their US and UK imports due to technicalities, the true reason behind this is highly unknown due to Amazon not presenting their take on this matter as they don’t need to in any legal concern within SA. Long story short, Kalahari is utilising the Amazon API with no known technical issues, Kalahari isn’t that local.

Kalahari? IMHO the worst e-commerce site in SA, and pricey to add
