I'm on 1000/250. Local speedtests confirm this - however international is, IMO, terrible.
Whilst travelling in the USA, I attempted to stream from my personal Plex server - it did not go well. A mate in NZ tested, and, again, this did not go well. I was surprised as 250mbit should be able to handle the H265 streams easily.
So I then started running some speedtests. First, testing with my NZ mate's hosted speedtest showed that I was barely managing 4mbit upload to him. On Ookla, I get some wild deviations, with download maxxing at ~300mbps, typically less than 100mbps, and uploads varying from single digits to 150mbits.
So here are my questions I'd like some help with:
1. I accept that international speeds will vary and will be lower than local - however what is a reasonable expectation on 1000/250?
2. Which speedtest servers should I be using to validate that there is or isn't an issue here?
