Rebel Tech set to make its comeback

I chatted to Rune on the phone and he told me some stuff off the record that convinced me it was legit. I have yet to receive any complaints from customers saying they didn't receive goods they paid for.

As far as I'm concerned, Rune has always tried to do right by his customers and so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The CC is being shut down (hence the `rebeltechcc not found` messages in the teaser images) and they'll be trading under a (Pty.) Ltd. when they relaunch.

The government banned them from trading for nearly 7 weeks. Lots of businesses didn't survive that.
They seemed to be have been the only pc store which didn't use the home office essential service loophole. All the mayor players except them were selling shortly after lockdown.

How did Wootware, Takealot, Evetech and such start trading on the 1st of May? It should've only been 5 weeks at most.
Wootware, evetech, titan ice, takealot, ect used the home essential service loophole. While we can question the validity of rgb as essential home office usage it did allow them to continue to operate. Rebeltech seems to have been the only mayor player not to use it.

You could only order certain items, a lot of RGB things were not one of them, motherboards, CPUs, RAM, hdds yes sure, but no RGB controllers, lights or fans.

Looking forward to be able to order from RebelTech again  Need some Noctua fans :D

Any update on the progress to re-opening?

I think their goal of opening at the end of January was maybe a bit ambitious but I hope they make a comeback soon.

I also want some Noctua stuff.

I'm typing this on a gaming computer I built up from components ordered from Rebeltech in 2015.

They had the best prices of all online retailers then, so I totally support their comeback

I personally think whether you support them or not, more competition in the market place is great, bring it on, give the consumers more choices :-)

Global chip shortage making things difficult?

Never been a fan of the word imminent. Pick a date and stand by it.

Like the retro neon colours. They should use it for the site.

I like it as well, but this theme is as unique as it is common. This was basically the 2020 Black Friday theme in the USA continued throughout Cyber Monday.

Not too long ago I submitted ideas to be conceptualised into logos and other imagery, more than 90% was send back to me in this theme. I see this all over digital designs. Not that it is boring, but it has little association due to overuse.

However, in the SA market space it may still stand out.

Just to add, I did a AI experiment recently to basically redesign my own designs to give me more, how can I say, inspiration. All it did was pump me back with retro-cyber designs. The algorithm knows people like this.
