Rebeltech Sadness. Advise needed.

This is obvious that the same condition are for selling the product and the same for returns. Seagate document makes it clear: It applies to Customers and Resellers (page 3).

It is not obvious in my opinion and I do not see where they make this clear. They make it clear how you need to send back ... and that is about it.

Amazing that every manufacturing/retail sector has its share of goods supplied with physical anomalies, from groceries to vehicles. Except we are led to believe that computer hardware has reached zero defect in the manufacturing and transportation processes. To even suggest it, makes you lying consumer scum. Pfffft.

Rebeltech has always had a good rep, I would not dismiss them at all.
Another +1.

I've built quite a few pcs using components sourced from them and have had no problems. However, they should look into an inspection of mechanical devices before shipping. This is tricky, because of the way they work (courier picks up some components from the distributor). Who knows what the device has been through before (or after) the device is delivered.

It is in the place where you push the HDD into the case HDD cages, externals, etc etc and if the damage was there on arrival the customer would not have tried to us the drive.

Got to say, I probably would have tried to use the drive.

Kudos all round.

Well done to RebelTech for their response here and sorting out the OP's issue.

Edit: Also a reminder to me to:

a. unpack stuff immediately after receiving
b. take photos so that if there are any issues, there are time and date stamps

Me too...ideally you should do it before signing off on delivery but that's tricky. The delivery guys leave stuff with our mail room reception guys who sign for it...guess I'll have to get off my butt and walk down whenever something comes in.

They will not allow do it, unless you sign delivery. Once they get your signature they leave, as they have many other things to do...

From now on I'm making unboxing videos like a Youtube star!

Good job Rebeltech for keeping with your stellar rep and good service.

Nope - I've done this a couple of times for expensive things. Well within your rights to open the box and compare the contents to the invoice - if it doesn't match, you can refuse delivery. Not sure this would help with all kinds of gear (somethings you'll only know they're broken after assembly) but at least visible damage you can look for.

Just going to ask this here instead of creating a new thread.

How much do Rebeltech charge to build your pc from selected hardware? Thanks.
