Install as little as possible, or you defeat the purpose of the re-install. I tend to only install the things again as I need them as this greatly reduces the footprint. I also disable any applications that automatically startup as this wastes resources. Total Commander is one of the first apps which I install and I see its not yet listed.

Thanks for your input. Logical to install only the necessary on an office machine. As it needs to work at optimum speeds.

These are all multi-platform and part of my general re-install process:
Speedcrunch (even if for just those 2+2 moments)
SpiderOak (substitute dropbox if you don't worry as much about security and intellectual property protection)
VLC
KeePass (version 1.6 if you want portability)
Google Chrome
Skype (for now at least)
Gimp (because sometimes you really need to edit a photo or a scan)
