Reccomended Apps for a fresh install

Hello,

What apps do you recommend for a pc that has received a fresh install?

For me:

Kaspersky AV 2011
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Free)
Foxit PDF Reader
Open Office / Office 2007 or Office 2010
WinRAR
WinAmp
VLC

What do you recommend for a fresh install, I don't want the used to be able to install / modify many files after its fixed up. So I need to cater for all / most used applications & files.

If you doing a fresh install hop on to http://ninite.com/ create one EXE that downloads and install all of them in one go without holding the PC's hand

The free version that does fresh downloads should be fine for all your needs but if you doing 100's of PC's then I would say look at pro.

Oh and it covers the most needed apps anyway.

Install as little as possible, or you defeat the purpose of the re-install. I tend to only install the things again as I need them as this greatly reduces the footprint. I also disable any applications that automatically startup as this wastes resources. Total Commander is one of the first apps which I install and I see its not yet listed.

After getting all of the above you'll probably have more than before. I'd add MKV to vob if you have a ps3 or media centre that can't play MKV.
