Received the new model router (B315) replace B593?

Just got this device too, after reviewing and liking the B593... I see that this newer/better model has MUCH less detailed reporting of bandwidth usage :-( it cannot show bandwidth per SSID, or per Ethernet port or a snapshot of how much bandwidth is being used at any given point in time.

Bit disappointed so far :-(

Unless someone knows something I don't? Is their a newer firmware perhaps?

Looking at getting the B593 for R600 vs the B315 at R1250... is the newer model worth the extra cash or will the older one suffice?

I have both and the B593 is not a good router. The B315 is so much better. For me performs better and the VOIP actually works perfect. IS it worth the extra I'm not sure though as the B315 is not a perfect router too has some problems too...

I previously used the B593 via Afrihost but decided to go the Telkom LTE uncapped route

I applied for the Telkom LTE Uncapped and received the B315. Connected it directly to my laptop and works fine but when I try to access the internet via my Netgear switch and the B315 does not "see" the switch using the ip address of the B315

Then inserted the Telkom sim into the old B593 and it worked immediately via the switch.

Are there some settings that need to be applied?

Thanks. Do you have any particular LTE router that you would recommend?

Well if we had more choices in SA I would probably try another router but if I had to pick the B593 or the B315 I would pick the B315.

I have 1x B315 and 1x E5186 with me the E5186 seems to give me about 3MBps more on down and same up but E5186 has lower latency no idea why and confirmed both LTE routers where in 2300mhz band only issue i have with E5186 is no ddns update as like with the B315 :(

Picked up the sealed B315 for R1000. Thanks for your advice bud.

When you mean VOIP, connecting a old style handset and dialing through the GSM using the sim?
Apparently neither routers support VOIP rather GSM dialing, not too sure on that though.

Are you absolutely sure? :)

It does with the latest firmware (21.313.xxx) from Cell C and Telkom. I use VoIP on B315s. Connect old style Telkom handset, then configure your server on the menu. Handset will dial either GSM or VoIP, depends how you configure port.

Nice one, very handy feature none of the run of the mill brands have/support.

I have an analogue handset plugged into my B315 and have a SIP account configured - works perfectly. All inbound and outbound calls over VOIP, no GSM calls.

But jyst to confirm you can assign the analogue handset to dial via the gsm sim though?
