A R5 recharge voucher from Vodacom tells us "voucher not found" and I phone the 111 number. The young lady tries a few things and still it does not work although the voucher is on their system. She logs it and gives us a Ref. number. What happens now?

yebo yes even the young lady could not get it to work when she tried her magic.

mmm ok. Best thing I can recommend is that you go back to the store where you bought it. We had problems with the supplier that does our virtual vouchers a while back where they downloaded a bad patch of pins into our data base and had clients coming back saying that the pin was already used. We had to issue a new voucher and claim it back from the supplier.

Go back to the store and ask for a new one I would say.

will do, thanks OC.

Would you know why Vodacom gave us a ref number if nothing will happen about the query?

No probs.

Not saying that nothing will happen...but in our case for example...Vodacom was not the supplier of the recharge pin numbers. It was a 3rd party vendor that integrates their system into our back office and point of sales...so voucher queries would have to go through them. We have since switched to a system that is done directly through Vodacom (the one where you give us your number and we charge the number directly for you...no need for pin numbers)

I merely suggest going back to the store as that will be the quickest and most direct channel to follow.

We have about 6 vodacom recharge vouchers now that are problem vouchers. Nice way to lose clients and money. This is just not on.

The boss is going there today. I reminded her to take the vouchers with her.

The thing is my wife runs a small kiosk/shop and sells airtime. If enough customers have problems they are bound to go elsewhere and that will be bad for business.

huh? So she buys airtime from a shop and resells it? Why dont you rather get your airtime from the supplier direct?

Because suppliers only supply in BULK and she normally takes 5 here and 10 there so for the big cheese they don't care. Even if she buys 5 voda and 5 cell c and 5 mtn she still gets a discount.

We buy what we can afford at the time and make do with what we have.

The supplier says Vodacom knows about this batch and have done nothing about it. He says we must bring all airtime back to him. The is one customer who took 3 vouchers but was dealing with vodacom directly and even those we must try get back.
