Rechargeable Light Bulbs

Depends on the fitting it is in. A single bulb of multibulb fitting?
The light switch at the wall MUST be on, AND at least one other appliance in the house or another normal light be on somewhere.
Take the lamp out of the fitting and touch the two terminals with your fingers. It will light up if the battery is charged.

I think I'm missing something, maybe don't have the right wiring but I'd assume it should work regardless. It's not working at all, maybe a faulty bulb.

Yeah lol. I've got something similar. If I need to pee I need to pee. Bathroom must have a form of light that works even with loadshedding at night.

I have a few of these around the house. They have lasted more than 10 years

Light worx.
I bought two of these lightworx bulbs from builders but not sure how to charge them... They were switched on from 7pm yesterday....no loadshedding until 4am...then we switched the lights off at 6:30am when we got up.... Next day put them on again at 7pm and now they just died at around 9:30pm.

Are we supposed to leave the switches on during the day? Isn't that going to use electricity in the day? No instructions

you supposed to use the globes like normal, so put them in a fitting you use everyday, it will build up a charge over time while you use them.

Picked up a bunch of these today - more of a glorified nightlight but useful and at R13 a pop I'm not complaining.

The Lightworx ones lasts about 2 hours, definitely not the full 2.5 hours load shedding slots. It claims 4 hours. This was from new.

Mine easily do 3 hours. They are the 7watt ones. I just make sure they are charged for at least 6 to 8 hours before an outtage over time

Got the same. Use it in 3 outside lights as well that is on every night, still doesn't last. And in a few lamp shade ones, and in an albaster ceiling fitting. So where I have downlighters I purposefully use the lamp shades to charge these Lightworx ones.

Point is, I do use these lights to charge them, but on the box it says it even trickle charges even if switch is off, which might be standalone lights? IMG_20211107_184807.jpg

Thanks
Yes I wasn't sure if they are suppose to be charged. But someone replied above to use them as normal

Ours also flickered the first time we put it on. Like flickered the entire night. Not sure what that means

those are not 2 separate concepts - they charge while you use them.
The point of these they meant to work in fittings you use normally - not a desk lamp in the corner cupboard that only gets used during load shedding.

the problem is you bought them when load shedding started so it never had enough time to build up a charge
SO i put them in all our bathrooms and there we switch them on and off as we need them - so it doesn't really have a full charge but it doesnt need to have one
at the same time we have it on the stoep light which stays on the whole night - so it charges at night normally to full and when the power goes it stays on

sounds like those are faulty take them back

Only R13? Where?? Some third party on takealot selling them for R205
I’d better buy some more then.

They’re not the greatest light but they’ll stop me stubbing my toes at night.
