I've been with Axxess for many years, and their service worked flawlessly on the Openserve network. However, since moving to a new home and switching to Frogfoot, the experience has been far from ideal. With my home automation setup, server, off-site backups, and other needs, I require an ISP that is flexible, non-restrictive, and allows me to use my own router with a fixed public IP.

I’ve considered WebAfrica, but their restrictive policies and the R999 cancellation fee are off-putting. VOX, on the other hand, still hasn’t responded to my inquiries.

In short, which ISP would you recommend for the Frogfoot network? I’m looking for reliable, customer-friendly options that align with my setup.

Any help is appreciated.

Where are you?

I can help in the Cape. We're quite switched on when it comes to things like sonof, smart life, home assistant, solar assistant, ajax, etc.

As I said to someone else, not only do we offer static IP, but we also set the PTR record as you need it.

WebAfrica and MWEB shouldn't even be a consideration. They suck donkey balls.
Give @portcullis a go if you are in the area, else Cool Ideas or Afrihost.

Hi @wimmelman

Based on the features you’re looking for, I think we could be a great fit for your needs.
Here’s why:
  1. Flexibility with Hardware: We allow you to choose your own router, and we’ll even cover the delivery costs, ensuring your setup works seamlessly with the fibre service.
  2. Static IP Availability: If you need a fixed public IP, we offer this at a minimal cost of just R50 per month, providing the reliability and consistency you need for your server and off-site backups.
  3. No Fair Usage Policy: You’ll enjoy true uncapped internet without restrictions, ensuring you’re not limited in terms of usage, which is ideal for your data-heavy needs.
  4. Premium Fibre Bandwidth: We provide lightning-fast internet speeds with premium bandwidth, so you won’t experience slowdowns, even with heavy use or multiple devices on your network.
  5. Global Latency Comparison: If network performance is critical, you’ll appreciate our Looking Glass Portal, which allows you to view and compare latency to various destinations, ensuring you're always aware of your connection quality.
  6. Customer Support: We pride ourselves on being customer-friendly and responsive. Unlike your experience with VOX, we aim to provide the support you need promptly, so you can get back to enjoying a seamless online experience.

We suggest reaching out to us directly to discuss the specifics of your setup, and we can guide you through the best options for your needs. Let me know if you need more information or if you'd like to proceed with a quote!
