Recomend me a 1156 CPU Cooler

Nope.. Just the one window open.. and it's next to my desk (both pc and window)...

With my cooler (just set my CPU to stock) My temps are sitting around 15 avg, Lowest is 12 at the moment..
The Hyper is also an awesome cooler, the one thing i didn't like was that the contact between cpu and cooler is direct to the heat pipes, not a flat even surface.. But beside that you won't go wrong :)

Um, do a little research, there's a reason most companies use HDT.

lol i wasn't knocking it's effectiveness! Just saying i dont like it.. because the flat surface looks better :) and when/if you change coolers you also gotto make sure you clean out all the gaps properly..

Haha, ok :) Subjective I suppose.

I could agree if I regularly took my cooler out to be used as a mirror (luckily I use it to cool my CPU ;)), but until then I'll take effectivity over appearance thanks ;)

I agree, for the stoopid reason that there is a R400 price difference between these coolers. :O

I will suggest the Zalman 10x extreme. My dad is running a i5 660 at 4Ghz and running 29C idle and 40C load so very nice. I want to push the cpu urther to maybe 4.3GHz or even 4.5Ghz

@ R674, I would rather add R200 and get the H50.

Now why suggest a cooler that is virtually on par with the 212+ yet so much more expensive?

Must be dam near freezing in your room for your CPU to reach 12 degrees. Doesnt sound like those temps are right. Idle temps are usually 5-10 degrees above ambient.

OT: linky choose one you like that in the budget

You could also try Rebeltech. Email sales[at]rebeltech.co.za and they'll sort you out i'm sure.
Just order one of those hybrid drives with them this morning.

Maybe you can collect from them if delivery wont be in time, give them a call.

Arg, didn't see this yesterday. :(

I was on their site and it is under construction, so I skipped them, as I didn't have the email address. Till now that is.

Anywho, I ordered (again) the Cogage True Spirit from Wootware, as the guy told me he could get brackets for me for Socket 1156 and since I had one of these
coolers before, I took it. I must say, I haven't had a Hyper 212+ yet, but I would recommend the True Spirit above the Hyper 212+ as it is max R80 more, but they
are brilliant. I ordered 80CFM fans as well to use on them. :D

Here is my 5c worth

I have the Coolermaster V8. It will also fit on a socket 1156 so you might want to take a look.

Here is the links of interest:
Coolermaster V8
Frosty Tech Review
Frosty Tech Comparison Table
Sybaritic Price and Feature page

Note that even though Frostytech and Sybaritic do not indicate the 1156 socket on their compatability list Coolermaster states it is compatible and all the fittings seen on the Coolermaster site comes with the cooler in South Africa. I got mine straight from Frontosa (Parts supplier in SA) and it had all the bells and wistles.

Hope this helps
