Why so small. You should rather go for something bigger. 500gigs atleast. As of brands, whatevers cheaper lol

What's the approximate price for each? If there's not much of a difference, I'll go for the 500 GB then.

Maybe you should look at one of the USB 3.0 models (much faster transfers) such as this ...

You might be able to find it even cheaper if you search using www.jump.co.za or www.pricecheck.co.za etc. Keep an eye on the hardware dealers posts to see if Esquire has any reasonable offers.

That's exactly what I was thinking of buying, thanks! But is that way over a special price? Coz if it is, I'd rather wait.

I think that might be a promotional price - most of the 500GB USB 2.0 external drives cost roughly the same. Look around on Google and the price comparison sites to see what else is available. Makro and Game also have regular specials on 2.5" external drives but I have only seen USB 2.0 drives on offer. Esquire is supposedly running another special this week which may include their Freecom range. Take a look at some of their previous offers in the hardware dealers section to get an idea of what to expect.

Thanks again, I have a better idea of what to go for now. Will keep a lookout and compare prices.

Check at CNA -- I picked up a Samsung 500GB 2.5" for 699 a while ago. Possible its had a pricedrop since

USB3.0 is no good to you unless your netbook/desktop supports it, or you are thinking of upgrading something to USB3.0 soon. May find a better deal on USB2.0 only.
