Recommend a good gym work out??

Diet is 9/10's of the law. Burn more calories than you consume and you should lose weight. No carbs after 7pm.

i think you wanna avoid carbs after 4pm, so pasta dinners are a no no, and yeah, the diet is the big battle!
 
Do you have a medical?

Can any 1 recommend a nice gym work out. I am trying to lose weight mainly but would also like to get a bit of muscle gain.

Here's a nice dumbell routine for alternating days: i.e. Mon, Wed, Fri.
1st Week start with Chest and back, 2nd start Shoulders and Arms.

Chest and Back

Incline Press 3 x 10 - 12 (Chest)
Bench Press 3 x 10 - 12 (Chest)
Bent Over Row 3 x 10 - 12 (Back)
Incline Fly 3 x 10 - 12 (Chest)
Pullover 3 x 10 - 12 (Chest)
Shrug 3 x 10 - 12 (Back)
Lying Row 3 x 10 - 12 (Back)
Fly 3 x 10 - 12 (Chest)

Shoulder and Arms

Arnold Press 3 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Front Raise 3 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Shoulder Press 3 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Lateral Raise 2 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Raise 2 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Lying rear Delt Row 3 x 10 - 12 (Shoulder)
Kickback 3 x 10 - 12 (Triceps)
Triceps extension 3 x 10 - 12 (Triceps)
Curl 3 x 10 - 12 (Biceps)
