Interesting, I've always avoided them as I thought they were CVT's. Might actually take a look at one now.

Yup, go drive one, the gearbox is amazing, just purchased a CX5 in January, very happy.

Just saw the article on the new fiesta catching fire :/ . Those 3 cylinder motors do run hot..

I travel quite a bit for work, no kids.
Just sick of clutch in and out the whole time in traffic, Cape Town traffic is mental.

I'm easy, just need something reliable in auto, preferably a hatch but not locked down to it..

Kia Rio is a good deal. Honestly, if you just want a commuter, and possibly want to keep it for a long time, avoid golf/audi with double clutch boxes. stick with traditional Auto/CVT

Wife actually loves the Mazda Auto and it looks good.
My sister has the previous model and it has clocked 200 000km with no issues at all.
