Hi Guys, i'm currently looking at getting an auto car for work.
Either new, demo or a year old..

I have seen quite a few of the new polo's and fiesta's on the road, which may be a good option.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Budget is up to 300k, thanks.

For R300k I wouldn't buy any of those cars, Yaris included.

I'll see when I get to my desk what's available around that budget, but my money would go to a golf or an astra (can't believe I'm saying this but had a drive in one and it was surprisingly nice).

Get a Corolla or a Honda.

If you want to be fancy then any German car will do but make sure it was very well maintained.

Rouxenator liked your post.

Go 2 years old. Then from R200k up your options is basically unlimited. Enter that into a website for cars and just pick one you like.

I would suggest mazda or opel.

That's why I was hesitant to recommend that, but hopefully he won't see that post.

You've invoked the Opel gods that will call down their disciple to enlighten all that wander in this thread. I doubt you'll be so lucky :)

Honda Jazz CVT. Retail price for new is 301k, but you can negotiate down. Even a demo model would be a good deal.

Tip: Use this site:
http://www.newcardeals.co.za/

It then pits the official dealers against each other, and they compete to give you the best price. Helped me a lot :)

Thanks so much for the replies, will give it some more thought before I make a decision..

I would most def go for a Mazda, look at the CX3 or Wait for the new Mazda 3 to be released in Q2.

Gearbox in the Mazda's are way better than the CVT's :sick:

What are you actual requirements? Do you travel a lot? Do you have kids? Looking at a hatch, sedan, SUV or otherwise?

Doesn't Mazda only use CVT's, or am I mistaken?

Mazda 3.
You can wait for the new one to launch mid-year, but there's a chance it might exceed your budget. Or you can get a really great deal on the outgoing model.
