Recommend a Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant

Ahoy there's a great blog for this stuff - veghunter.wordpress.com

It's got veg restaurant reviews etc etc.
 
Would never have thought such restaurants exist. Learn something new every day they say.

Let me know if you find one. I know of Kauai but I'm not really much of a fan, to be honest and I would never go so far as to call them a "restaurant" so much as a takeaway.

Anyway, there are a couple of decent places that make good vegetarian food but aren't really vegetarian restaurants :)
 
Are there any Fruits and Roots in Cape Town? Also, Indian restaurants tend to have quite a few veg___n options.
 
Lola's on Long Street is/was a vegetarian restaurant. (I say was because it's a few years since I went there last. Not even sure if the restaurant is still there.)

Addis in Cape may not be strictly vegetarian, but I think the menu is mostly vegetarian (Ethiopian food). I've been meaning to go there for a while now, so can't give the personal recommendation yet. One of these days...
 
Maharajah Indian restaurant at Rondebosch village serve only vegetarian and have kickass spinach and ricotta samoosa's.

*shrug* It's a grocery store with a misnomer. I didn't find it funny but I didn't find it offensive either, if that's what you're implying? :p

Just thought it was silly. It's a grocery store that calls itself "Fruit & Veg" but it sells meat, dairy, eggs, household detergents, etc. If it was a grocery store that just sold fruits and vegetables then sure, I would've found it funny :o First thing I thought of, however, was just the carcasses hanging in the butchery section.

You're welcome to your joke, obviously I just missed the punchline :p
 
Ok ok thanks all the jokers. Are there any NORMAL restaurants with vegan/vegetarian meals on the menu.

We tend to go to a lot of India restaurants....for obvious reasons.

Lovely Italian restaurant at the V&A that has a smashing Gorgonzola pizza. Gourmet Burger at Cavendish have three quite tasty vegetarian burgers of their own and a nice ambiance. Beyond that, I'm afraid, I don't know of any, hence why I asked that should you find something, feel free to share :)
