Hi there

I am looking for
1. 24" widescreen
2. at least 1900x1200 res
3. HDMI port

Make: Samsung, HP or other reliable make.

Purpose: extend my laptop display; I am not a gamer; will also use to watch movies and dabble in some graphics manipulation (windows platform)
Must be compatible with Linux or OSX.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks
S

I have a 24" glossy Acer screen, can't remember the model number but I'm more than happy with it!

Go for the Samsung 2493HM.
* Crisp display
* Beautiful colors
* Flexible mount
* Built in speakers and USB hub
* Sharp display

+3 Samsung T240 - beautiful screen

I'll be grabbing either a T240, T260 or 2x T220's next month... can't wait!

Dell or HP. I have a 30inch Dell and its an incredible screen, not just because of its size and high resolution but the very high contrast ratio and extended colour gamut make it worthwhile. Dell and HP are really good computer displays.

1920 x 1200 is the standard for 24 and 26 inch displays.

Of course if you can get it and can afford it the best monitor would be a NEC, this
one being an H-IPS panel:

NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi-BK - Flat panel display - TFT - 24" - widescreen - 1920 x 1200 / 60 Hz - 400 cd/m2 - 800:1 - 6 ms - 0.27 mm - DVI, VGA (HD-15) - black - LCD2490WUXi-BK

The reason I say NEC is one of the best in the world, is because NEC is the leading manufacturer of professional displays
where quality is most important, not photo editing for magazines but professional medical displays such as this:

21.3 inch, 2048 x 1536 native resolution display.

Hi Thanks

Did a couple of searching for some dealers in DBN/PMG region---but no one has stock for:
22" Samsung 2253GW
24" T240 Samsung

Anyone know where I could get any of these Screens?

LG 245WP if you want a non TN panel. It got good reviews and is a good price.
