Recommend me a F2P game

It has an amazingly mind-boggling skill tree, with over 1300 nodes on it - That's insane!

There are absolutely loads of different character builds possible.

There is a robust end-game system via the map system (the opposite of playing the same areas over and over, really).

Etc, etc.

Which is not to say anyone is obliged to enjoy it, but is a person is a fan of the genre, this is about the best it gets, frankly.

I have over 40hrs in so I understand where you're coming from.

Not too bad then. Tell me, how restrictive is the build element later on? As in, do you need to build "optimally" in order to keep up later on, or can one still do well without that?

Also, is it possible to respec or alter the nodes after purchase?

Getting to end game is very very difficult.

It's easy to build a very powerful offensive character that simply cannot survive when the going gets tough later on.

It took me a long time until I made a character that could do end game maps (and even then I only could do the low level ones).

Look, the game is very grindy, very challenging and I totally understand why many folk didn't get into it off the bat.

As to your question though - There is a very reasonable respec setup (you can get in-game items, as well as quest rewards that give you respec points) so you can amend your character as you see fit.

Nah that's fine with me hey. I was just worried that one would have issues with later sections after making small errors with your build early on with no correction. As you described it I would like to try it

Grab planetside2 for your fps fix. I get bored easily and I havent stopped playing it after a year even. They often add new content or mix it up

I hate PoE

Been 30 minutes on the class select screen, all the names I think of are taken!!!

So fanie, how far are you into PoE? I've been looking for a decent player to go along with who doesn't just run ahead and skip all the exploration... Bloody hate that

LOL probably not too far. I've played about 5 hours now. Killed some dude, in some prison area. Don't ask me for names, can't remember.

I'm bad at building my character. I'm trying to figure out what the best way will be. I'm playing as the Shadow, and have so far, invested quite heavily in a weapon that is on the other side of the spectrum :( So I need to focus a bit on my passive skills tree, find a good build, and concentrate on that.

I'm exploring every nook and cranny of every map I enter. I have the mini map open almost all of the time, and make sure I explore everywhere possible. The only thing that pisses me off so far, is that when you return to a previously explorer map, everything is dark again on the mini map.

What character you playing with, and what's your strategy on building its skillz and passive tree?

That's a happy coincidence then, as I also just beat that fat prison warden this morning (lack of sleep before exams ftw). Currently running as the Witch, building up everything in terms of summons and improving them, so I constantly run around with 4 zombies to act as dumb bait while launching fireballs and throwing around traps. Honestly kind of rolling through everything at this stage, I don't think I took any damage from that boss in fact. However, this is sure to change when bigger single enemies come up rather than large amounts of cannon fodder I believe.

I do also dislike the map clearing when you re-enter, however it does that since it is a new "instance" of the map. Only happens to me when I've been out of x area for more than a certain time before returning, and it then reloads all the chests, enemies etc, so it kinda explains the map issue. Though I do still wish my fully revealed map would stay as such!

I did poke around on the wiki a bit and noticed you unlock another class which starts off near the middle of the board and acts as a neutral character, though one needs to go through to right before the last boss to unlock this blonde goddess unfortunately.

Hmmm not playing through steam, but direct. Will check this afternoon if one can add still, though I would assume that it would be fine.

I got bored of it within a week. I guess it's good fun if you enjoy zerg rushes or defending against zerg rushing, otherwise meh.

I enjoy Defiance a lot more overall.
