I have an old MNET decoder and hooked it up to a few tvs. was using a VCR to record up until recently. I wish to have this functionality and have been considering a dvd/hdd recorder as a direct replacement.
Is there not a media centre mvix type thing that will do the same for me in addition to playing other content? Have looked at a tivo but that seems like quite hard work....
Any suggestions? Would like something that is easy (my wife must operate) and convenient (remote control)....

I don't think there is a media player that records and plays content.
I know the WD Live does not.
Nor does the Mede8er.

Perhaps a DVD writer/recorder/player would be the way to go.
Will post a link if I see something.

Go the whole hog. Get a Windows Media Centre setup. 1,2,3 click. done.

Have a look in the Hardware section, Esquire has a PlayOn DVR unit which is a mediaplayer and can record.

I saw this, but it says it doesnt support analogue... does this mean my normal aerial cant plug into it? only satellite etc
