recovering data from imate

I have an old sp3 that has all my contacts photos etc on the internal phone memory. The phone is stuffed in that i cannot use active sync to explore the phone.Imate has said it will cost a couple of hundred to sort it out. Is there any way i can retrieve my data and transfer it to my new phone (eten x500 PDA) without using active sync? thanks

Yeah, Raithlin has it right. Beam it using bluetooth or infrared.

when i go to beam contacts in the imate it says align and then does nothing.
the x500 doesnt have an infrared port

The X 500 have Infrared ... beam the file VIA Bluetooth ...
Make sure your Bluetooth is turn on and in discoverable mode on the X 500 .. on the Smartphone go to the selected file and beam it ... The smartphone will look for IR then start scanning for Bluetooth devices ...
