Somewhere far far away.
Ok so I got myself a copy of this at Musica over the weekend.
Was happy with the look and feel of the game..

The tutorial was slighty retarded with talking tanks, but yeah I was still
wanting to try this out, but this co-commander cr@p is spoiling the gameplay.
Even on the hardest difficulty the co-commander takes all the fun out of the game. I mean you can basically vuild up your base defenses sit inside ur base and do v0kkol and he will finish the mission for you I know I tried it for the heck of it. So yeah what u guys think about the co-commander???

Did not see a way to turn him off, but was a bit pi$$ed of with the game yesterday did not properly check...

Sadly that was a built in mechanic EA decided to try.... Its either the AI controlled commander or a friend.... no way to turn them off.

I wish I had your luck though.... While in the early missions they did clean house, by mission 5 of the Soviets, I have my hands full trying to assist and still attack.

Honestly I'm enjoying it. Would like to have the option to go at it alone, but I'll live with this.

Some pretty good games running round. C&C Red alert 3, farcry 2 and fallout3.
Gotta say was a bit hard pressed this weekend when picking up my choice......but yeah, red alert won it :P

Think i might be on the last russian stage(assisinate the imperial lord).... my arse was handed back 3 times in a row... :( not good.
but yeah, enjoyed it so far quite a lot.

The co-commander is a built in "feature" kinda had to do it that way if they wanted to have ppl playing the game co-op.

I think it's a feature they want to take off online, like introducing a new feature that will take off in other games as well... EA is always trying to bring in new things but failing miserably.

I also preferred just doing things by myself, my AI partner almost lost me the 1 mission cause he got his ass kicked, finished the soviet campaign last night so prob gonna start on allies tomorrow, maybe that'll be a different...

the co commander thing fits in with EA's obvious targeting of a younger audience - who dont have the skills or the attention span to do a 'real' RTS by themselves. See my rant on the other RA 3 thread about the dumbed down nature of this release.

Hopefully the hacks should start emerging soon, to strip rubbish from the game. I have a feeling that somewhere underneath the badly designed game world, endless vid clips, and noise, there's potentially a streamlined mean and lean little game.
