Lady driving a Chery drove through a red light and hit our shop's Nissan 1.5 ton. The plastic bumper on the Chery flew to bits, the bonnet and wing crumpled up and one front wheel was at an acute angle. A small mark on the steel bumper of the Nissan. I believe the Chery was a write off and our driver thinks she was maybe doing 20km/hr. The car was amazingly flimsy

Of late I've noticed that more and more people tend to gun for the traffic light long after the light turned red - they're not willing to wait, but risk it and shoot the red light as they're too impatient to wait for their turn at the green light.
Best that you can do for now is :
1. Slow down when approaching a traffic light which've turned green for you, just to make sure no blathering idiots still try to jump the red light.
2. Invest in a proper dash cam.
3. Wait a few seconds more after the light turned green to make sure there's no blathering idiots trying to jump his/her red lights.
I know that the law's on your side, but waiting for two or three seconds more just to make sure all is safer will make things easier for you.
I have been in a write off accident before, if someone wants to write off one of my cars be my guest, I hope you have insurance and personal liability cover.
