Reddit advised to list at $5-billion valuation

Reddit Inc. is weighing feedback from early meetings with potential investors in its initial public offering that it should consider a valuation of at least $5 billion (R94 billion), according to people familiar with the matter, even as it is estimated below that figure in the volatile market for shares of private companies.

The San Francisco-based social media company and its advisers are targeting a valuation in the mid-single-digit billions, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private.

Quick, kill off the 3rd party clients so we can show investors how valuable our captive audience is, before too many leave.

Same, but I do miss the "old" Reddit. The communities were more coheisve than I've found on Lemmy, and the content tended to be more varied. 10min on Lemmy and I've pretty much caught up on everything for the last 24 hours. On Reddit I could doom scroll for hours.

Will never go back to Reddit though.

Same here. Quality of content on Lemmy is excellent.

More technical issues and outages though, but that's normal for a federated platform with many different private hosts
