Redmi Note 7 by Xiaomi

When I had the Mi 9, this bugged me. I installed the Global Open Beta Rom. This Rom was perfectly stable and had some added features as well.
To my knowledge though, I think Xiaomi has put an end to this Rom.
It's now Global Closed Beta Rom. Not sure if you can install this just randomly.
 
I'm not as impressed with Redmi Note 7.... software seems buggy

Mostly notification problems - Calendar alarms also sometimes don't get announced or come through minutes later

Battery capacity is impressive though

It's a bug many people have experienced. Try a different ROM, like Xiaomi.eu
 
What are the Roms on XDA like for this device, also wondering if the price will decrease once Note 8 is released here in SA?
 
Is it safe to update to MIUI 10.3.5? I've had the update available for weeks now but I'm hesitant to update.

In all honesty, it's very easy. Global ROM available for change over soon as it's now available for the vanilla note 7.

Only downside to this is no AMOLED and DSTV Now compatibility.

I got it during a sale from Banggood. As mentioned, opted for the Huawei 18w EU fast charger.

Great bang for the buck. Must say though, another mutual friend just got his Samsung A50 and it's a stunner. If you're looking for an amazing display, you simply can't beat AMOLED. I upgraded from my Oneplus 3T and I miss those colors!

Hit me up for any questions or Fiesta. I had a lot of trouble shooting to do with installing some apps but at least I can share these solutions with you. Not hard, just wasn't obvious.

hey wassup,i'm interested in buying this phone from Takealot.Is DSTV now, now compatible with this device?it's kind of a deal breaker for me

ROMs are very good, but at present, the MIUI derivatives are best - for battery and stability. Try MIUIMix or Xiaomi.eu

I updated to 11 this morning - what I've noticed so far:
they fixed the status bar, so one can now easily see what is loaded
the screenshot is greatly improved
 
I just noticed Call Recording is no longer working on my Note 7....... I updated to the latest 11 version in the past few days, not sure is that's the reason
