If the top positions in any government are targeted for assassination continuously, it cannot even begin to function, due to the power vacuum created.

This alliance of fools, will quickly resort to assassinations of their own loyalists.

This government has only just sniffed the purification of itself.

It's a house of cards, built by by greedy, devious, murderous, torturous criminals.

It will go the way of others before it.

there was a big discussion about this on kyknet the other day, the commandos imho is a good thing, we need specialised divisions to control crime properly.

Not only crime (although that is a high priority). What about natural disasters? The climate change catastrophes (earth quakes, tsunamis, etc.) which may occur in SA cause my skin to horripilate at the ineffectual blundering around of the authorities. Through short-sighted paranoia they have disbanded commandos – the only disciplined cohort who won’t wimp-out or strike, has leadership, communications, tents, field kitchens, hospitals, etc. and can engage in activities like fighting fires, search & rescue, etc. Basically, a minister just orders, “There are bush fires in the Cape. Sort it out!” And that’s it. The minister is seen to have reacted appropriately and effectively.

Basson and his secret cache are not what you should be worrying about. IMO there are more than 1 cache out there of ex SADF equipment and many a ex military trained man to use the equipment. The government will NEVER re-institute the commando's, if you think they are going to dish out a couple of thousand R4/R5 rifles after they just got them back then you are mistaken. Government also said they will put a system in place to fill the vacuum left after the commando system was removed, which has not happened.
