Hey Guys,
I have a client that has a .com domain with register-it.co.za. Unfortunately, their control panel isnt processing my NS change requests and their support team isnt replying to my emails (and I've tried all their emails, and even a number I found for them which no longer seems to be in operation). They dont reply to emails and they dont have a number listed on their site.
I found a hello peter complaint about a client that paid the annual renewal fee last month but didnt get his domain renewed and there is no reply from register-it on the HP web site.

I fear they have gone under - any suggestions re the .com domain and whether anyone can confirm my suspicion regarding Register-It?

thanks in advance!

When you mail them does it bounce ?

Is the client registered as the registrant on the domain ? Who is the .com domain controller ? Go daddy etc ?

Yeah, I did try that number - thats the 'no longer in service'/'doesnt exist' one.

Anyway, just got a reply now 2 days later. They say they sent the support reply to the admin contact - but whats the point in that when thats not the person asking for the support?

Anyway - thanks again guys...

My company has been using Register It for a good few years for for domain registrations until in January we paid them for a domain to be renewed, they didn't do so with the result that it was taken by a domain auction company. Yes, we probably should have checked but be that as it may one should be able to expect a 'domain registrar' to use monies paid to them for the intended purpose.

We have several domains registered through this company which we decided to transfer to GoDaddy. The problem is that since there is nobody replying to emails a Register It the auth codes are not being sent, so transfer is impossible (their control panel doesn't allow for transfer away). I eventually managed to contact their upstream service provider, OpenSrs and a lady by the name of Sara was extremely helpful and has sorted us out.

We are instituting legal proceedings for costs associated with purchasing the name back, the lost domain was pretty essential to our brand and was well established on Google, but it's likely to be a long process. I have noted that the registered owner of this company (register-it.co.za) is one Stewart Mcintosh who is also one of the founders of Webonline, perhaps that company should take note that their "child" is behaving in a most unbusinesslike fashion. It doesn't reflect well on their brand, I would be terribly concerned if a subsidiary of mine was acting in such an unethical, unprofessional and fraudulent manner.

I also note that Register It is still taking domain registrations, which is pretty much as close to fraud as could be.

NB this is my first post here, I'm sorry that it's not a positive one :-(

@synergize - did you get any joy? I'm in a similar position. Owner's full name is Stewart George Mcintosh. Still trying to find a phone number. They're still paying their cipc bills so definitely still in business.

In case anyone else lands on this page with the same problem in future:
I appealed to Tucows, the registrar for Register-It's domains to help me transfer the domain to another provider. The transfer is in process, hopefully to be completed in time before the domain expires. My bank is investigating whether the transactions were fraudulent for the purpose of refunding me the money paid. I have also lodged a complaint with PayFast informing them of Register-It's dubious business practices and suggested that as their payment processor, they should be aware of who they are doing business with.

Using publicly available sources, it's possible to find more information about the owner of Register-It, although he didn't respond to my emails and his cell number is no longer active. (https://gazettes.africa/akn/za/offi...zette/2010-05-31/33251/eng@2010-05-31?page=10)

He is also the director of the following South African companies:Webonline, Woodlands Timber and Craft, Webonline Vans and UK companies: Webonline Digital LTD, Mycigardorder.com LTD
