Registering a .org.za

There is a R200 VAT EXCLUSIVE fee for registering within ORG.ZA. This fee will be waived if your organisation is non-profit, but proof of this is required and the registration will generally be slower. Please read the registration template for more information.

I'm confused, does that mean if I have got a section 21 NPO that the R200 will be returned to me or does it mean I don't have to pay it? If I don't have a section 21 NPO does that R200 cover all costs or is there an annual fee like a normal .co.za domain?

It means that you don't have to pay the fee at all, provided you supply the documentary proof of your NPO status.

Change section 4.q from "N" to "Y" and you won't have to fill in all the billing information:

4q. Non-profit organisation....: N

There are no annual fees, so if you're exempt from paying the R200, then you won't have to pay anything for the domain, ever. If you have to pay the R200 because you're not a NPO (or if you choose to pay it anyway, to speed the registration process up) then that is all you will ever have to pay for the domain.

Actually it means that you pay R200 for the registration once off. And there are no renewal fees.

But, if you're a section 21 company, then you don't have to pay the registration either but need to fax them to the section 21 documentation. If you're not a non-profit organization, then you simply pay R200 once-off :)

I got the .org.za of my surname without having to provide proof of NPO details. So it might depend on what you do. Or does a personal getting an .org.za of themselves count as NPO?
