Registering on NetFlix US

OK, I must just find my credit card statement and look at the address on the statement because I have a feeling it might still have my folks address.

I'll report back once I have tried again.

I used the postal code that is on my credit card statement which is 1619, went to www.usps.com and found a valid zip code for my postal code which in my case was 41619, and hey presto it finally went though.

Tonight I stream...either Lost or X-Files.
 
I can't seem get past the payment stage either. I tried the advice above but it still doesn't work for me. Any other ideas?

I had to create a new Netflix account using a different email address. If you have gmail, use an alias on your gmail.
 
I am using an alias gmail account at the moment and it still didn't work. I even cleared cookies, just in case.

Anything else I can try?

Is the country set as the USA? Try use a VPN when signing up
 
I registered for unotelly and I've set the dns on the routers. So I get the thumbs up from unotelly when I login there. On Netflix it picks up the USA dns so I get past the filter and now I can create the account, I only get stuck at the point of entering my CC details. I have a PayPal account as well but it picks up that it is an sa account. So I then try to create a new USA account but it won't allow me to use the same CC details.

So then just use your CC directly on Netflix and don't use Paypal.
 
okay right. So when they say type out your name as it appears on the card. TYPE IT OUT LIKE IT APPEARS ON THE CARD.

I've now registered. Everything is looking peachy. I've set the region/country to US in unotelly dynamo. I've changed the region on the ATV so it now shows Netflex on the dropdown. I log on to the account and now I get:

Netflix is currently unavailable. Try again later. I've rebooted etc. and still nothing.

Something that I did notice is the DNS that my devices on the network is still showing the normal local DNS. So on the ATV I manually changed the DNS to the unotelly one. But still no luck.

Any other ideas guys?

Make sure all your devices are set to automatically obtain their IP and DNS settings from the router, if they are already set to that I recall hearing about an issue where some of these devices use Google's DNS servers to push your true location, in that case set the unotelly servers in your devices DNS settings aswell

If you've used an SA paypal account at any point in the registration then that email address is blacklisted. Had exactly the same issue with a friend of mine.
 
Yeah I've managed to get past the payment point. I've tried Segg's advice on forcing the bypass of google dns look ups but I'm still not winning. Going to keep trying.

Can you post a pic of your playback devices IP and DNS settings
 
Does anybody have a step by step guide to setup unotelly going through Afrihost cause I configured the unotelly South african dnsses on my Belkin router and restarted router and when i go to unotelly it says it working I changed the country on unotelly to Ireland and changed on unotelly netflix to UK but when i go to Netflix I get this error We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later.

Did you at any time try to us your SA paypal account? If so your email will be blacklisted and you need to use another email address. Most SA credit cards and debit cards work.
