Registration costs?

Hey all,

I need to know what the licensing dept charge to get a new car licensed? I am buying a car privately and need to factor in those costs.

Accurate info will be greatly appreciated.

Check if you buying a car with a RWC. If not, I think it's about R1200 since last I checked... If the car comes with a RWC, and is less than 6 months old, then it's just to buy a license disk for the car... and to have plates made... So at worst case scenario, it should come to around R2500(if the car passes the RW test)

I got another car the other day and was as follows:
RWC: R350
Licence fee (registration) and admin fee: R550.

RWC: R252 at a municipal testing station... Licensing depends on the car but I'd say +-R500 from experience
