I was wondering if anyone else is also experiencing this.

Sometimes it feels like I have to make all the effort to get the know people especially at work. Like for instance only a few people would greet you in the morning if you don't do it first then they just keep quiet.

It's not like they don't know me I work with everyone in the company so they all know me personally but if I don't constantly make the effort of talking to people then it doesn't happen.

Is it me that's doing something wrong?

Maybe they don't like you?

Dude just be bubbly chatty and forget about the fact you are making the effort.

I hate it when people at my work starts talking to me about non work related stuff. I don't want to know anyone at work on a personal level. I don't want them to know my personal life. Greeting is fine, but don't ask me how its going with my dog/parrot/gf... it has got F'ol to do with anyone. (Ps. I have had a warning issued against me for telling someone I don't want to discuss my fiance with them and apparently I was rude in doing so?!) fskers...

Nope not the Boss. I spent most of my waking hours with these people I might as well get to know some of them.

sometimes i think i work at the reject version of Boswell Wilkie (Pty) Ltd, i have communicated with my fellow monkeys and clowns. I truly am interested in keeping close relations with everyone.

But my doctor has me under strict instruction not to.

As if clowns weren't scary enough, now I hear there are clown stalkers. :erm:

I am very bouncy and bubbly at work. I thrive on that contact with everyone around me. I have noticed that not everyone is receptive to going beyond general small talk, but there are enough people around that I am friends with. You get to know who you can chat to and who not to.

What I find funny is when I'm in the corridors and greet someone going past and they keep a blank face. I end up laughing after they've gone past and thinking to myself it's amazing how unsociable / grumpy some people are.

And then one day you come to work with a shotgun because they asked you one too many times...

I don't mind people generally, but most of the time, they seem so wrapped up in office politics
