Reliably stream Live video and audio

How can I reliably stream full resolution PAL video and audio from one IP address to another on the same network. What equipment would I require.

My application is to feed live video/audio at a University campus hall to another area about 600meters away. I thought of streaming it via their high speed network.

what equipment do you have between the two PC's?

if you have managed switches it wouldn't hurt to QoS on the port.
