Back in CPT!
I have just accepted an offer for permanent employment in PE. I will be moving up next week with my wife & 2 sons (aged 3 & 8).

I have found a house to lease in Christopher Ave, Charlo. Anyone here know how this area is? My kid will be going to Charlo Primary School. Should I be looking at renting in other areas? My office will be in Greenacres.

Charlo is pretty relaxed. Many shops in the area, low crime, fast internet.

Charlo school, I don't know much about aside from the fact that the kids appear to play a LOT of rugby.

Charlo to Greenacres is about a 25 minute drive in rush hour traffic probably.

Howdy neighbour.

:D

Nothing wrong with renting there. Close to everything... Walmer Park mall, Moffett Retail Park, access to airport, easy to get to work @ Greenacres, walking distance to school, medical facilities, vets, etc.

iirc Copacetic stays in the Charlo area.

Why I called him neighbour. :D

Not a bad area. Charlo Butchery is one of the better in the area. Picked up a sirloin for R49 per kg the other week. I haven't eaten in their restaurant since they re-did it.

The Oriental Chinese take away isn't bad either. :)

  Say what?

Just as long as you don't cause him to think you mean the place at Moffat on Main. That is the WORST food I have ever had the displeasure of facing. Jimmy's Kitchen.

Which one?

@Marco - your street intersects with Walter Road, right at the little shopping complex. Nice green area!

Jimmy's Kitchen, new place. It's not in the centre but at the top there by the shoe shop and whatnot. I would not be surprised if it has been closed down by he health authorities though.

Would it be possible for you to have a look at the house we're going to rent, and/or send me some pics of the house?

Oh yeah, sure - No problem at all.
