Relocation

Hi,

Does any one have any idea if companies still offer relocation assistance? I am thinking of moving from KZN to Cape Town and wondering if it is unreasonable for me to expect assistance with the relocation.

depends on the company really and the discretion of the decision makers. and the set of skills you bring. for sought-after skills, some companies pay you two months' salary in your first month. Some give you a full relocation package. Hell if you're that good they even buy you a house and a car!! And a wife if needs be... when i flew to work in Cape Town from DBN, the company paid for my flight and secured some two week stay at a B&B. After that I was on my own!

1) I was paid a settling-in fee as well as travel costs.
2) Stay in Durban

We get 6 months accommodation/food. Transfer/estate agent/legal fees when selling and buying new property. Storage of furniture. Transport of furniture. New carpets/curtains in new premises. Pay for registering ur vehicle in new province. School uniforms and fees for year remaining. And an entire gamut of other incidentals. All codified in the transfer policy

I had to pay for my own relocation, its not like they need to beg people to come to CT.

When companies do pay it happens because they really need the person.
