So what if many things are better? What does it matter? Why compare SA today than what it was during Apartheid? Why use Apartheid specifically? Why not use 100 years ago, or 1000 years ago, or 4 billion years ago, or 5 years ago?

Reason: you want to stir up an apartheid vs anti-apartheid argument. Am I correct?

Personnel from a security company, tasked with removing the residents of the Lusaka informal settlement in Mamelodi from municipal land, arrived in the morning.

"Details are still sketchy, but we know a security officer died when the residents threw stones at the group. Some were also injured," Ramaloko said.

A few subtle differences you failed to realise. In the middle east, there is usually only one women being stoned in the centre of a crowd and she's usually buried up to her neck at the time. I think this poor chap was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

Good ol' days huh? For all those who don't know, this was the reality of the so called good ol' days of apartheid (I.e. for 90% of the country). Those who wish for the country to go back to this must really be sick in the head.

We've come a long way people.
