Hi guys:)

I am trying to control my desktop PC which is using a cell phone to connect to the internet. My laptop is using ADSL line and is going to control the desktop.

Am i able to remote desktop the desktop PC? :confused:

I have managed to do the reverse. Were i go from Laptop connects using cell and controls desktop on ADSL

Any help would be greatly be appreciated. My head hurts from thinking tomuch :sick:

Very simply - Register a free DNS address (e.g. DYNDNS) for your desktop, then connect it to the internet (this sorts out the problem of not having a fixed IP). Enable RDP on the Desktop, probably a good idea to run a firewall, change the Admin account and have a strong pass-phrase. Run the RDP client on the Notebook and connect to the DynDNS name of the desktop. Note that this does not meet best security practices ;-)
 
Also disable all auto-updates for all apps on the desktop. Since you will need to be permanently connected to the internet this could cause a problem (Downloading 340MB of SP3 for example!).
 
Yes, the unrestricted is mandatory if you want to have incoming connections....
