Hi

We're looking for a cost effective / reliable program to provide (and sell) IT support to clients.

Team Viewer seems great but at R5000 for a license that would meet our requirements I'm wondering if there is a better option.

Also Checked out BOMGAR but haven't (from their website) been able to find pricing.

Hamchi also seems cool, but Team viewer seems a better option in term of security, asking for a fresh ID at the beginning of each session.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Teamviewer is the most cost effective of them all. You get a lifetime lic for that 5K. Logmein is also very good but lank expensive.

Ace Remote Tools

Check out Ace Remote tools. Good alternative to Team Viewer and allows you to setup the "Gateway" on your own or client's server. First Enterprise license is R3995. Additional Enterprise licenses are only R2495, half the price of Team Viewer.

LogmeIn. Full Stop :)

The Free version can be used for "work" according to their license. I have about 15 pc's on it and have used their support/email and I've had no hint that it's not allowed :)

Simple-Help http://www.simple-help.com/ works really well, you setup your own gateway in SA and as long as the client has Java installed you can remote him, via directing him to your gateway.

Pricing is pretty good as well.

Have been using Remote Desktop (the Windows one) for a while, but get's irritating if you're not on the domain, such as having multiple clients etc.
Will check out SimpleHelp and Mikogo, TeamViewer's license is just way too expensive for commercial use.

TeamViewer is so desirable (yes, and expensive) because of just how much it can do (not unlike that unattainable chick you just can't get out of your mind...). So, to distract you from its charms, work your way through the list of (just about) ALL remote support apps you see at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_remote_desktop_software (me, I'm going to look at a couple mentioned here to avoid thinking about TV more than I have to!)

BOMGAR have just responded to and email i sent them with an option for R1450 ex vat per month. All sessions are recorded for loging purposes which is great and you can place your companys logo in the icon etc.

Our company uses Teamviewer, once off payment option (albeit expensive) will be less than BOMGAR ! - you pay per additional channel a once off fee
A session recording app built in, as well as company logo's
it also has a comprehensive database of all of your client connections and ID's, time spent etc

Having been trying BOMGAR I prefer Teamviewer. Easier and quicker to setup and start using with minimal fuss. Point to note re Teamviewer (fine print) is that the "lifetime" license is only valid for that particular version of the product; in other words it will be valid for version 5.1.2.3.4 right up to 6. To be able to download and use a commercial edition of 6.0 a new license will be required. As a license holder (of the previous version) you will be eligible for a discount but will have to purchase a new license.
