Some of you may remember IconSettings, the Safari shortcuts that took you stright to certain areas in your iGadget's Settings app. Developed here in the good old RSA.

As of iOS 5.1 those icons no longer work. OK, fair enough, it was an unofficial workaround in the first place. But I stll have one sitting on my iPod Touch's home screen that I can't get rid of. Tap-and-hold starts it jiggling like all the other icons but the little press-X-to-delete overlay never shows up. I've banished it to the last home screen along with Newsstand, but I'd really prefer to get rid of it completely. Just call me obsessive-compulsive :)

Any ideas?

If all else fails, plug your device in, and right-click on it on iTunes and select backup. When that's done, wipe the device by going to settings -> general -> reset -> erase all content and settings.

Then just plug it in again and restore from your backup. Then again, it might restore the icon again. ><

But it's worth a try, particularly if you're OCD.

Have you tried removing the service profile?

Pretty sure this is what you need: Load Settings -> General -> Profiles and then tap on the relevant ones and remove them if they are there (pretty sure they will be there)

Homesettings is a Cydia app where one can create home screen shortcuts.. Works well...

And after worrying about it for weeks , it actually was that easy ... Thanks, guys
