Renault Captur

Why sell before the warranty lapses? What do you base this on? Personal experience or from a friend of a friend and on what car and when did an issue happen?

The Captur - I would sell it before the warranty lapses, 66kw is a little low considering the cars weight, and Renault is only now getting reliable. The main reason I would sell it is because of the turbo and it's overboost ability. While the technology seems good, it has not been around long enough to prove reliable, and when considering all the reviews, almost every one mentions you having to rev up and work the engine, and once again, this cannot be good in the long run. So my argument is simple, with the depreciation and the cost to replace / repair the engine, and the rapid pace Renault is bringing out stunning new cars, prevention is better than cure.

personal experience ends with a renault 5 teaching me my first cursewords.

2016 Renault Captur - refreshed model gets new range-topper

The Renault Captur has been updated for 2016, gaining an additional powertrain and a new range-topping model.

The 2016-model-year Capturs in Dyanmique or Nav spec are now available with Renault’s turbocharged 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine in manual guise. The new powertrain has 118bhp, a claimed 51.4mpg and outputs 125g/km of CO2.

Pricing for Capturs with this powertrain start at £16,575.

Previously the 1.2 TCe engine was only available with the dual-clutch EDC automatic gearbox; prices for that model now start at £18,075.

Elsewhere in the 2016 Captur range, Dynamique Nav and Dynamique S Nav models can now be ordered with Flame Red metallic paint and a contrasting Diamond black roof for £595. Additionally, a matching red interior colour pack can be added for £100.

The new Captur range is available in four trim levels, with a choice of two diesel and petrol engines. Prices start at £14,575 and climb to £19,175 for a new range-topping model, called the Iconic Nav Special Edition (pictured).

The extra model comes exclusively in Arctic White pearlescent paint with a Diamond Black roof and door mirror covers, and gets 17in wheels and painted lower front and rear bumpers.

Inside, there is part-leather upholstery, aluminium pedals and Renault’s R-Link Evolution infotainment system, which gains European mapping for the sat-nav and a reverse parking camera view.

The car also gets the Renault’s Grip Xtend pack as standard, adding a unique traction control system and special mud and snow tyres to improve grip on slippery surfaces.

Order books for the 2016 Captur range are open now. The car's key rivals include the Kia Soul, which starts at £12,800, and the Nissan Juke, which starts at £13,995.

Does anyone have the Automatic? Is it true what the reviews say that the gearbox is slow and when you stop at the robots that it does not take off instantly but rather only after a few seconds?
