So i have a 2017 renault clio 0.9 and after some time feel like i want a little more out of it, so I have done some research and found some tuners that will be able to give me an extra 15Kw or so.
Pretty hard to find any people who have done it and spoke about it before around the internet so i would like to know if anyone has any experience with tuning this particular model and if so is it worth it and where did you get yours done?
dont want to get rid of this car cause i love this lil beauty, just want her to kick a bit more

Thanks

It's easy to tell someone to trade their car for another, but most of the time there's an amount owed to the bank. (unless you're disciplined and paid with cash or paid off the vehicle already).

In my case they show it's better to tune my diesel so that I'd get better consumption and more torque, but in my experience it ends up using more fuel due to the more spirited drive and heavy right foot.

15kw will make a huge difference on an engine that size if you remember to maintain it correctly and don't mention Ford in the same room :p

Do you have the 81kw version?

You and I both bud
I have a 2016, and before that had a 2015, and was looking into this, but even in the Renault Owners Group on FB and WhatsApp group nobody seems to have done it.

What I do know is that Renault has done a tune like this to the 898cc engine already, as the new Renault Twingo GT has the same engine with the +15kw extra power:

However, who knows if there is more strengthning added to the engine ensure it lasts longer pushing out the extra power.
Haha! Thanks FST!

You are not going to get much out of a tiny 0.9l engine
I think the extra Torque would make it more peppy. I have driven a 2014 Clio 4 with the 898cc without the Overboost that the +2015s got, and the difference quite noticeable, the Overboost exists in the 2nd and 3rd gear in the +2015s and adds ~10-15nm more of torque, and comes in quite handy on inclines vs. The older 2012-2014 Clios.

This tune would add 20NM of torque over and above what the Overboost already does.

That won't be much for those of you with BMW M5 and all those fancy cars here, but enough for us

There is no 81kw version as far as i know, the 0.9T is 66kW and the 1.2 is 88kW.

Assume the car comes with a warranty/maintenance plan, the software would likely void it (assuming they check).

Dont actually owe much on it, paid off most cash and just kept a 1k a month finance to get some benefits on absa rewards, dont judge.

but no i dont think there is an 81 kw version, i got the 66kw 0.9

Did not actually know about the overboost addition, interesting fact thanks

most tuners ive used before revert back to stock maps when car needs to go in free of charge, but yeah some dealers are really sticky so i get what you are saying

I also looked at this on my clio. Whenever a tuner reprogrammes your ECU, it leaves a non-agent signature. if they want to, they will find it, especially with engine failure. though only really check performance versions.

I'm honestly not clued up on the current Renault engines so it would be good idea for me to get the desired outputs for my Polo 1.2TDI out the way to give accurate responses

I don't judge on how much someone owes on their car as long as they can service the debt.

I hope you can find the right tune to give the boost in power you're looking for. However, given what the other guys have been saying, it's best to watch out for how the dealers will handle the tune.
