If you don't believe me check out Hello Peter. Some horror stories on there! From my personal experience, I struggled 6 months and R30K for them to fix a computer problem. Which after 2 months returned. Trust me, not worth it.

So if you do decide to buy it, make sure you have got a warranty for the duration that you plan to drive it.

That is one of the reasons I am worried about getting it.

5 years time it will be paid off. but then i will probably only be able to get R40k for the car if i am lucky...

although on a R400k car it is a 10% deposit... I just think I will get more for a Polo or Rio

It's a tough choice. With the Renault you get more value up front compared to VW, but you lose out come resell time. The Rio is a good choice, kinda in the middle. I have no idea what they drive like. If the drive is good I would think it's the best of the 3.

My sister has the Rio. Non tec.

Its not quite at the same level as the polo and clio, but not far off at all...

more noise gets through at higher speeds. and it is not as refined, but is still certainly a good drive!

Ditto. But it need to be broken into three comparisons: 1) Purchase and spec (what you get) 2) cost of ownership (maintenance / tyres etc.) 3) resell value predictions.

Drove it today, very very beautiful and comfortable car. Its not as fast as I wouldv liked, and the space in the back hasn't improved from the Clio 2. Screw resale, i'd take it over a Polo, but not a Rio....
 
Test drove the clio yesterday and I must have it. Got in the car, connected my iPhone 5 with bluetooth and I played my music through the system and the standard sound isn't that bad. I will still add a 10" sub later on.

I didnt test the ECO drive, but I was amazed by the power that little engine has. It's no race car, but I was expecting less from it.

They are busy with the financing now and if I am happy, I should get it by the 15th. Stock in middelburg is non-existent. :(

Cannot view the vid but assuming it is the Clio RS. I think it will be around R250 000 to compete directly with the Fiesta ST. But if it is only around the R230 000 mark, then I will def tell my fiance to hang in there a bit and wait for this. The RS looks insane!!

Yes it's the RS, and I'd take the Clio over the Fiesta any day! This coming from a big Ford supporter, and current owner of a Fiesta ST =P
 
I'm waiting for both the st and rs, want to drive both. Must admit i like the look of the rs more.

Drove it last week. Only thing that stopped me from buying it, is the lack of space. Compared to my Modus it is tiny inside. It is still a stunning car.

The RS will have more power than both the Polo and ST (132kw) Clio (147kw) and Clios has Dual clutch (same as Polo), so I think the Clio should be the fastest
