Hi guys,

Anyone here own a Renault Clio mk2 1.2 Va Va Vroom and able to tell me ± how much km/L they get?

Hell, even if you own one, post here, so maybe I can ask you questions or post asking questions relating to it.

I own the 1.2 Authentique.... Same thing, with a few extra features... It depends on my driving, but i once got 700 on a tank... But i was driving like a grandma the whole time

I'm def not a racer... I keep it cool! lol.

For those interested; Korean Boyz.co.za (CPT & DBN) sell parts for Renault cars.

I am sending my car in for the 90,000km service.
I'm NOT using Renault themselves as they are insanely expensive - but my mechanic has his connections (books will be stamped officially)

The guy in question said I should write up a list of things that are currently bothering me with my car - now I have completed that - I wanted to know from other Renault drivers - what other things should I put on my list.
I'm sure he'll do all the basics - he is very good - but with the list, what should I put on.

Cambelt replacement!! Mine went last year, took a few valves with it. R17 000 fix

You mean valves / pistions with it.

As above, make sure the cambelt has been replaced.

Mine was replaced! I was scared about something happening, but the mechanic said it was in very good condition but he replaced it anyways.
I'm trying to run my fuel tank out now, got about 100km to go before it's apparently empty, will let it get to about 50km's then fill it up.
Scared of the amount I'm going to see!

Don't own one but I'm driving one at the moment. Doesn't have a consumption indicator thing though so I'll have to tell you once I've finished this tank, but the last one was just under 500. I'm not sure if it was filled to the brim before that.

I tried to run mine down as much as possible, according to my car's indicator, I could do 60km's (this is when I filled it)
and I filled it with 37L of petrol coming to R436.

Why do people not understand the simple concept of km/l, l/km or any other ratio indicating the efficiency. Getting 600km out of a tank means nothing unless you state the size of the tank. You way just as well post the size of last morning crap. Gosh

600km good if its a 20L tank but bad if its a 100L tank, get the point?

Nvm the tank size, how much fuel did he actually consume?

Yes! Thank you! Someone understands!

Doesn't even matter how big the tank if you always refill while some fuel is left. And then there is the issue of how full you actually fill it!

Yep, If I want to work out exactly what consumption I'm getting I only let them fill it till the pump automatically stops and nothing more as they will never fill it to the same level when they trickle more in afterwards.

I do the same, then use an app to record milage and fuel filled which then calculates the exact usage. Although my boardcomputer is normally spot on in any case. Still nice to have the stats

That's as close as you'll get but even then different pumps will stop at different points, and different attendants will hold the hose differently which will also make a small difference. But if you average it out over a few tanks, you get a pretty good idea.

My onboard computer has never been spot on.
