Renault Clio

Good day everyone

I am thinking of buying a 2016 Renault Clio 900T Dynamique with a sunroof. However I would like to find out if they still have bad resale value? I would not want to make a bad investment.

From what I can see they are in the same class as the others (Opel Corsa, Ford Fiesta, etc) when I look at second hand value on Autotrader, I would just like some advice from someone who knows a lot more about it than me.

Thanks in advance

As long as you promise to switch your headlights on after dark it's fine. Most poepols driving this car for some reason don't switch their lights on after dark. And that thing is surprisingly slow, I had one trying to keep up with the Up (and this car is slow) up plattekloof hill, could only pass on the downhill. That happened after dark by the way, and he was driving without lights.

Haven't really noticed those around here, mostly the clio. It has stupid features like sat nav, they should rather have added auto lights.

As somebody who went through that segment of cars (twice, once for me, once for the SO) I can honestly say...

...get a Mazda 2 instead.

EDIT: to be more specific, if buying new, get a Mazda 2 Dynamic spec and add leather seats.

Errm.... It does have Auto Headlights.
My Clio 4 900T Dynamique has Auto Headlights, Rain Sensing Whipers and SatNav.

It's all down to the package, the lesser Blaze, Authentique and Expression Models don't have that, but Dynamique and GT Line do.

You have have seen an Expression model or Blaze, both those are very popular.

EDIT:
If it couldn't keep up with a VW UP! Then you may have seen the Authentique actually. Those have a 55kw NA engine with little torque, a lot of rental companies have them.

It didn't have a turbo sticker on the back so you might be right on the engine. If it has auto lights then most of the people that drive that cars are morons. Or I might just be constantly seeing the entry level ones.

The most popular models are the ones with the 5spoke 16inch wheels, those are Expression Models, you will see those all over the place, followed by Blaze (uses plastic hub caps) and the Authentique which rental companies love, it is barebones and has no SatNav, sort of like the Polo Vivo of the lot.

The Dynamique and GT Line you will see less of, and you will notice that they will tend to have their lights on even before the sun is fully set as the light sensor is quite sensitive, probably due to Euro regulations.

Ok, thank you for the info.
