Renault Triber

That was quick!

First impressions? (Assuming you've drove it).
I've not driven it yet, but I've driven in it. The seats are more like the Kwids which, not uncomfortable but more utilitarian feeling as the material is tougher. The dashboard is simple but not bad looking, digital dials.
The car does need a bit more oomph but my wife did come from a Spark she had for years before the Clio so she said it's about the same really.
From the passenger side it feels stable on the road, but because of the storage boxes under the seats they aren't height adjustable, but seating position isn't bad. Everything is easy to use, it's really feels like it was built for the mommy market.
I'll give it a drive sometime and give a proper opinion.

Okay after driving her.
Seating position is not bad, I fitted into it and you sit more like you're in a normal chair rather than a car seat. The pedals feel a bit low down, but the seating position make it feel fine.
There is a bit of body roll, but not anymore than the Spark to be honest, steering feels firm and like you're in control which is nice. The clutch takes some time to get used to, it's a bit low down and takes a little to get pull off right due to the low power.
Once you're moving and on normal city roads the car performs fine, it takes time to build up but it's a steady build up, there is no MFD, to check your consumption you use the touch screen and go into the eco thing. But the dash does tell you how much mileage you've got left with a little car heading towards a petrol tank and the remaining mileage which was pretty cool.
Initially I didn't like it as being over 6 foot I couldn't see the dials properly through the steering wheel, until I found out the Prestige has an adjustable steering wheel, rake and tractor so can get it nicely positioned. Once I was comfortable I could get going, which as stated being on the normal city roads it's fine. But going up William Nicole Drive Roodepoort was not pleasant, I mean most cars struggle up there and we are used to it from the days of the Spark, we also had the car full all seats occupied as we were taking kids to karate so it was a good test. A buddy of mine who's just 6 foot was sitting in the middle row and adjusting the seats for him was easy and he was comfortable.
Overall it's actually a great car for many people as long as it's only town driving, I think if you're driving on the highway a lot don't get this, but if you're doing like a kids transport service or something similar it would be ideal. Even the back most seats can fit a 12 year old comfortably and turning on the aircon for the back is such a nifty feature.

I've only got one kid,it's when my wife takes other kids to karate and back that there were issues :-). I had a Cruze she had a Clio, she found my old Cruze too big, but the Clio was too small. This is apparently just right. I'm not driving the Clio which has been a bit of an adjustment from my Cruze.

Which Ford Figo? First gen cause tbh those were like the 80s :-). I don't mind the Clio, I can park it easier, for it's size it moves. The things I do miss is the boot, being able to open the boot from the remote and the space.

That 1.4 Figo was horrible, I had one for a Rental car back in 2014 was the worst 30 days. They gave me a topped out Spark after that and is probably why I ended up buying one for my wife.

I was hesitant with Renault, but my wife wanted to test drive the Stepway, so we went and test drove it. She than test drove the Clio, the one with all the bells and whistles and she loved it. It's really a nice car, my dad who's a Polo lover is even impressed with it. I've just got to get used to the Turbo lag and bring fuel consumption down a bit :-). But I came from a car that was almost double this thing in weight.

Only reno id consider right now is duster 4x4 full spec though. Looks nice and should be great for town and long distance.

That was on the list but over R350k it's pricey.
