2 seconds to blank is a typical problem when:
- one of CCFL's is blown or
- inverter board is faulty
In your case high voltage transformer looks fried. Meassure resistance on the both secondary windings. It should meassure the same, typically around one Ohm. If resistance differs more than 5% (or is floating), then you must replace transformer. The link given above is correct.
I had 2 second to blank syndrome on my B2330. Replaced transformer and now the board is trying to burn another transformer. There must be also faulty CCFL, but didn't check it yet, as Samsung made clever decision to make access to CCFL's difficult. I have to disassembly entire panel to replace CCFL! I spoke to Pinnacle service guys, Samsung authorised service centre will not service CCFL's, they will replace entire panel.
Pinnacle Micro in Midrand is a Samsung authorised centre. They have good service personel.
Try to replace tranformer first. If doesn't help, then don't throw monitor away, I can give you an offer - looking for spare CCFL's for my monitor. When you get back from Pinnacle, you can drop it in my place in Midrand. Sorry to hear about, I like these old CCFL's backlit monitors, there are better for my eyes.
